Our training courses are tailored for each individual businesses needs and we draw from a wide range of core material. This has been developed through years of experience and study of the science of developing people and businesses.
We offer a variety of training courses from half and one day sessions to on-going training programmes, with several sessions spaced weekly or more. We believe fervently in the practical application of training and actively encourage people to take what they have learned, apply it in the workplace and then feed back to us what successess they have had.
After a successful career in the Public Sector, in the mid 1990’s David moved into the training and development field with a major international training and consultancy organisation. Following this he established Axio Development and became a leader in the field of personal and team development with a particular focus on Senior Executive Leadership and Management Skills Development. The ethos that guides the delivery of these programmes is that of motivational support and accountability for the participants, together with the application of the skills learned back in the workplace. This has enabled him to forge successful partnerships with several schools and educational establishments and a number of major blue chip companies in the UK and Europe
On completion of a short career commission with the Royal Navy David joined the Financial Times before moving to a FTSE 100 company where he was responsible for implementing their innovative change programme – an initiative crucial to the success of the company’s ambitious mergers and acquisitions programme . Joining an international training consultancy, David built on his commercial experience and now makes a positive impact on individual and organisational performance through coaching and development.
Examples of the community work he has undertaken include the directorship of a youth charity, working as a business liaison ambassador for UNICEF, a seat on the area board of Young Enterprise as well as vice chair of his local Volunteer Bureau Advisory Group.
He is passionate about the individual dignity entitlement of all employees and works with organisations to improve their performance by nurturing their people and embracing change.

Sarah Cross, Managing Director, Uber-UK
"I would recommend Dave as a trainer and a business coach having worked with him for delivery of both client training and coaching and with the team here at uber. He is knowledgeable and consistently reliable. Both myself and my clients have seen some instant measurable changes in the teams he's worked with. A pleasure to work with." - Sarah Cross, Managing Director, Uber-uk
Christian Robson, Head Teacher, Southwick Community Primary School
“Axio Development has been instrumental in the development of the skills of the whole of the senior team, myself included. The work that we have done and continue to do ensures that the school management team is totally focused on the delivery of first rate education for all of our children. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our results and deliver even more for the children and our community as a whole and Axio has been a major factor in helping us achieve this. I would recommend Axio Development to any organisation that is looking to grow and develop better management and leadership skills”.
Tim Spittles, Managing Director, Hawkwell House Hotel
We were a business that had made significant improvements in business performance – mainly due to the staff, however we had probably reached a glass ceiling and needed outside help. Axio have enabled us to take the team to the next stage. The increased self - awareness of our staff and their realisation that they are in control is a direct consequence of the training that Axio is undertaking at Hawkwell House.
Steve Williamson, Head Teacher, Northern Saints Primary, Sunderland
“I have worked with David and David at Axio Development over many years, starting before I came to Northern Saints. They have enabled me to develop my leadership and management skills to the next level. I have also widened this out into the whole of the management team at Northern Saints such that we now have the most focused, dedicated and committed team that the school has ever had. This has contributed to us becoming Primary School Joint Winner of the 2016 National Pupil Premium Awards and has enabled us to be in the top 100 performing schools for progress in the UK. The way that Axio work with you to really dig down, challenge and question all of your skills and then try new ways of working really fits with the ethos I have developed throughout the school and would wholeheartedly recommend that Axio can do the same for any organisation. ”
Dave Lewis - Manchester City Council
"Thank you again for your support and developing the teambuilding programme for the Private Finance Intitative. It was well received by both the Manchester Council and the Amey management teams. More importantly the outcomes were in line with what was wanted with greater cooperation and stronger working relationships. Additionally the action list with names and dates agreed as the outcome of the meeting has focussed us all into action and moved many important issues forward. All in all a worthwhile and productive exercise with real world benefits"
Zoe Carr - CEO | Wise Academies
“The WISE mission is to Inspire Success and Excellence. WISE Academies set high expectations for staff and students in order to meet this mission and raise standards. For the delivery of this mission with the staff we have partnered with Axio Development. The development process that Axio have mapped out with us ensures that all of the senior staff will not only have their skills enhanced but that we develop a whole team ethos across all of the academies. This ensures sharing of best practice and enables us to best target the skills of the specialists in the team throughout each of the schools thus raising standards across the board. I would happily recommend that Axio could do the same for any organisation looking to build leadership capacity and improve results.”
